As a National Advanced City revitalizing the country
through science and technology, Zhenjiang is quite developed
in science and technology, culture and education. As far
as the number of college students and the number of scientific
and technological personnel among every 10,000 people
are concerned, Zhenjiang ranks the second and the third
respectively in Jiangsu Province. There are 5 colleges
and universities with the enrollment of 43700 in Zhenjiang
, such as Jiangsu Unicversity, Jiangsu University of Science
and Technology, Zhenjiang Academic School, etc.. Besides,
in Zhenjiang, there are 7 secondary specialized schools
with an enrollment of 18400 such as Zhenjiang Chemical
Secondary Specialized School, Electronic Industrial School,
Machinery Secondary Specialized School, etc., 128 normal
middle school with an enrollment of 170000, 22 vocational
high schools with an enrollment of 15300. These schools
are responsible for providing enterprises with various
levels of professional personnel and skilled technical
workers.
