Zhenjiang Export Porcessing Zone was approved by the State Council on March 10,2003 with a total planned area of 2.53km2. The first-phrase project completed in December 2003 covers 0.91 km2 and was certified by the Customs General Administration and other seven ministries for operation on Dec.24,2003.
Zhenjiang Export Processing Zone locates at Jiangsu Provincial Zhenjiang Economic Development Zone east of Zhenjiang City. It enjoys very convenient transportation, which is 28km far from downtown, 3km north to Dagang Port and 15km south to Shanghai-Nanjing Express Way.
Along with its supervisory organs and administrative committee, this Zone provides full-service for the invested companies. The Customs offers service of clearance within 24 hours through “Single declaring, Single checking and Single inspection”. The Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Office will also offer high efficient service.

Zhenjiang Export Processing Zone has developed and completed a high standard of infrastructure. Roads, electricity, tap water, drainage, sewage treatment, telecommunications, gas as well as land leveling has been available in the first-phrase project. Isolation facilities and monitoring systems are provided in strict accordance with supervision requirements to implement the administration pattern of “ within the border, but outside the Customs”. Coordinated with the working area, the living community center and dormitory areas for staffs can satisfy investors.
Enterprises (Including from HK, Macao and Taiwan Region) in the Zone can also enjoy the preferential policies of both this zone and Zhenjiang Economic Development Zone.

Development:
By the end of 2005, more than 14 enterprises had been approved to enter Zhenjiang Export Processing Zone with a total investment of more than USD 161.4 million, contractual utilized foreign capital of more than USD 103.07 million. At present, five projects have been invested and start operation in the Zone, such as LEADER ELECTRONICS (JIANGSU) INC, ADVANCE ELECTRO-OPTICAL TECHNOLOGY(ZHENJIANG)CO., LTD.,PEACEWIN ELECTRONICS (ZHENJIANG) LIMITED. Century Electronic Aisa (Zhenjiang) Co., Ltd. and Gaobo Energy Sources Co. Ltd..
The first phase of Export Processing Zone is 7.5 km in length with “three longitude and three latitude” road framework and “seven connection and one leveling”. There are one Customs Monitoring Warehouse of 2010 m2, standard workshops No. 1, No. 2 in north and No. 1, No. 7 in south of 22608 m2. All existing standard workshops have been leased out. Five standard workshops, No. 2, No. 3, No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 are under construction with total construction area of 50,092 m2 and total investment of RMB 40 million, which will be put into use by the end of May 2006.
